Default shift boot plastic ring part number

I recently bought a shift boot from a forum vendor and I'm having a bit of a problem with the install. I went to put the new boot on and seem to have added a permanent kink to the plastic ring you squeeze into place that holds the boot in the center dash. Does anyone know the part number for this item? I messaged the vendor, but they didn't respond, I assume they are out until the new year but I want to get their core stuff returned to clear my credit card sooner rather then later.

Any help would be appreciated.

Do not think that part is serviced separately I believe it is sold together with the oem boot.

I really hope your wrong. That would be a 77 dollar mistake.. or me trying to somehow super glue in a metal support into the existing plastic ring.

The new boot didn't cost me 77 dollars.

On the C5, the plastic retainer ring and boot only come as an assembly. Probably the same on C6.

The C5 and C6 shift boot retaining rings only come as part of the shifter boot assemblies.

Thanks Gene. I think I'll try to augment the plastic or recreated first. perhaps glue in some sort of metal pin behind the weak spot.
