Fuel pump failure symptoms?
My 2005 (46k miles) is running out of gas. Hard acceleration in 1st and 2nd gear is normal, but right after going into 3rd the engine quits, just as if I had shut off the fuel. I can coast for 10 to 15 seconds, and it will start right back up, and run fine as long as I stay out of the throttle. I did have the car emission tested yesterday and my fuel filler cap failed to hold a vaccumn, and the car failed that part of the test. I don't think the fuel cap has anything to do with the car running out of fuel. Anyone had similar symptoms, and a fix. Thankz.
