a year or so ago there was a thread on this and someone put up a link to testing that showed Purolator was one of the top filters, PureOne PL12222, I tried one and agree, it's only a buck or two more expensive than AC, and a few bucks less than Mobil1 and other popular alternatives to AC. Now I use them on all my cars.
One thing to be careful of, many filters are sold under a brand name but jobbed out to someone else to build, the design often changes to whomever builds it cheapest. And for you racer types, if it is good enough for Jimmie Johnson, it should be good enough for you. Check out the history of the company.

I remember this thread, nice find! I also use the Purolator and have been very satisfied.

True, but then again Jimmie Johnson's filter only has to hold together for 500 miles or less (though yes, it is at a nearly constant 9k rpms LOL) and the motor that it's protecting gets rebuilt again afterwards.
My filter stays in for far more than 500 miles and I am neither changing it nor rebuilding my motor after every track visit.

Thanks everybody for your responses. I agree with VETTEINPLANO and LT1LS1. I will get a delco for now, but will switch over to amsoil as soon as possible. Marc has got one of the fastest bolt on cars in the country, if an amsoil filter keeps his motor together it should work for me too.
FYI, I used the AMSOIL EAO32 in my LS2 Cadillac CTS-V until I recently sold it and my used oil analysis reports showed wear well below the labs average.
