So I go out to start and warm up the '05 for the first time in about 6 weeks, get the juices flowing and take a trip around the block to rotate the freezing tires. I found another single dried droplet of trans fluid in the same spot as previous drips. I've had her in the shop 3 times in the last year or more for the same thing. The last visit seemed to fix the prob for this whole past summer. But to see that new spot (on my new white cardboard drip checker) was saddening.
Could it be the cold, or lack of driving her for 6 weeks? What do you think?
YES!! could very well be the cold, seals contract/get hard, you also don't say if it's an auto, over time the TC will drain into the rest of the tranny causing an "overfull condition" and it can leak from spots it normally would not, a single drop? you have boring life don't you? this may be a shock to you, but this is nothing more than a machine and machine's filled with oil/lubricants... LEAK!!!! some more than others, but ALL some!!!!! one drop? maybe take it in on the "lemon law"?
Yeah, one tiny drop in the span of six weeks, I wouldn't really worry about. Especially since it's been sitting for that long.
I understand the concern though. While it IS a machine, it's a little more special than a compressor, refrigerator, or washing machine.
Once you clean the spot, maybe drive it around the block to warm it up every couple days then recheck in a couple weeks.
My 08 had a single drip from the tranny (mn6).
The dealer had to drop the tranny and reseal it.
They initially thought it was a sensor leaking, but determined that this was not the case.
SInce the tranny was resealed, no more leaks.l

Initially they thought it was a sensor leaking, they ordered the sensor, and added die to see if they can pin poing the leak, Once the sensor arrived, they determined that the sensor was nto the prob, so they dropped the tranny and resealed it.
No more drips here.
Good luck.

NO it is no more than any other machine, it just does a different thing
