I'm "babysitting" a C6 and went to start it today could not get in. Used the key to get in the hatch and of course tripped the alarm. Reached up front to try to start it and the display said "no fob detected".
I opened the fob and the battery read 2.4 VDC.
Do I need a new battery? If so, is it as easy as just replacing the battery? Any reprogramming required?
I need to get it started soon before the main battery goes dead.
Battery's probably low, they do strange things with a low battery. Did you put the fob in the slot in the glove box? If not, there is a slot just to the left of the main area of the glove box. Slip the fob into the slot and try to start the car.

Go to my friends house and parked in the driveway like any normal person would. Tried to lock the doors and it wouldnt lock. Tried to start the car and it wouldnt start unless I used the slot in the glove box. If the doors do so happen to lock I cant get them unlocked and have to use the manual door release from the trunk via the key.
The kicker is this.
Out of curiosity I parked in the street, about a 40ft driveway, and all was perfectly fine. Car locks, unlocks, starts EVERYTHING like normal!
I've experienced this and tested this 3 times now and parking in the driveway leaves me using the manual door release and glovebox slot to start. Parking in the street keeps me sane.
I have no idea what it is but do know its VERY ODD!
RF Interference from............who knows, perhaps a garage door opener, security system, 'Ham' Radio???
Credit card readers in gas stations can have the same effect. Very pervasive and hard to locate without specialized equipment (scanners, spectrum analyzers).
Hell, The day i bought my car after paying in advance and putting on order the salesmen said "would you like to test drive one?" i said sure and didnt know how to get in. I bought before ever being in one and didnt even know they had push button entry, the salesmen was laughing his AZZ off at me.
I got the car last winter and its in my garage and I still cant figure it out so its nice to find out about this rear hatch pull lever thingy
