My question is to anyone who has changed out thier own airfilter on a 2008 C6. How long does it take, what tools will I need and what is the hardest part of taking it off? Looks like you have to disconnect the censor on the intake, and un bolt a few things, take off a clamp and pull up on those rubber things on the top. It looks like it comes out as one unit. I looked in the book on how to do it but it definatly don't tell you how to do it. Sorry guys, just a little confused. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I did my 06Z06 a year ago. Should be similar to your LS3. It is about a 45 min job. No special tools whatsoever. Screwdrivers or hex head drivers as I seem to recall is all that is needed. Most difficult part is disconnecting the MAF sensor wiring harness electrical connector unless you are already familar with those connectors that GM uses everywhere on cars now. You are correct that you take out the filter box/air bridge as a complete assembly. Removing and installing the element will be obvious once the assembly is out of the car.
You got it but won't really need it. Just don't break that MAF sensor wiring harness connector. There is a small plastic insert in the connector that has to be removed that then allows a clip to be depressed and the connector pulled off as memory services me.
i still dont see anything... search, someone posted a write up. use a flat head screwdriver, loosen the clamp and pull up on the two rubber nips. I flipped the intake over so i could see the tab better on the MAF. you'll need a torx bit or the right size screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the filter into the housing. takes longer to remove all the screws than it does removing the box from the car honestly. about a 5 min job.
