Default Poll: FI vs N/A damage

Please post if you had damage from
1-Any N/A mod from bolt-on to H/C
2-Any FI damage on a base kit.

This is to get an idea of safety built into each platform.

The criteria here is to establish damage histories and specific examples to let others see what would have avoided the damage. If your damage was inconclusive such as a diff broke, please dont include your example in the poll. Try to keep the damage limited to that which resulted from your mods.

Feel free to post what you or your tuner feels would have prevented the damage.

My damage was on my fuel pump which likely resulted from the pump overheating from voltage boost with too low a fuel level. The fuel cools the stock pump. I replaced with a Z06 in tank pump and a parallel fuel pump that now activates under boost.

Voted.

Default My damage

was bent pushrods, broken piston, and a stretched rod on a FI A6, resulting from installing a set of TOYO R888's and not realizing that they were a tad shorter This put me on the rev limiter hard on my A6 resulting in the above damage and a new motor.

Default The "List of Doom" might be a good place to look also

You might want to take a look at what I call the "List of Doom" maintained by 06 Quicksilver Z06....

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-gone-bad.html

The thread went horribly off track but the first post has some information that may be of interest to you in this quest.

By the way I just donated a Benjamin to St. Judes in your name yesterday.

No issues with my H/C.
Only one with a bolt on mod.

1. Vararam CIA mod, the filter housing is warped and keeps popping open.
The older housings are poor quality.
All of the other damage was to the drive train.

Bolt ons would include Nitrous. Has anyone with H/C had damage caused by Nitrous?

I've had damage from FI on a different car with a base kit, broke two rods and the bearings went through the block.
