Default NAV display not turning on

I have a 2005 with factory NAV and every once in awhile, the display does not turn on when you start the car. Sound comes out of the speakers for the radio and the buttons on the side work (voice commands) but the display will not turn on. I have tried using voice command to turn on display but that doesnt work either. Sometimes, if I restart the car, it will turn on, or the next time I start it, it will work.
But other than that, it's very intermittent and I cant think of any reason that it would happen. It's happened probably 10 times over the past several years. I should have taken it in already, but just haven't...

any ideas?

My 2005 has done the same thing but only once. I'm interested in hearing if anyone else has noticed this or knows what's wrong.

There was a thread last week about a tsb update for the nav radio.Dont know if it included 05 model year.Do a search. I have a 08 and mine does this too every once in a while, but only when really cold outside and when the display does start,it is very dim until it warms up in the interior.Hope this helps....

Found it!!!

Cool information there. Mine has done this exactly once only. Restarting seemed to take care of it but will now remember this TSB

My 2007 did it a couple of times. I simply turned the car off and turned it back on and the display returned. Didn't know there was a TSB. Thanks.
