I have 06 A6 - base model. I noticed that the brake pedal became softer and required more pressure to stop the car. I have changed brake fluid and brake pads but I do not noticed any improvement.
Do you guys know there is a possibility to adjust the brake pedal, maybe to shorten the movement and the moment it starts to brake?
Or maybe it's just feeling. I recently bought new mini cooper s in which brake pedal is very responsive.
Other than a brake fluid flush and removing any air in the system, your only other choice is to check the wear on the pads and rotors for possible change out and calipers for some binding/resistance (not likely). The brakes/press self adjust in reverse. So what you are experiencing may be just normal wear resulting in more pedal pressure.

C6 has 4 wheel disc brakes. They do NOT self adjust in reverse. That is how more modern drum brakes adjust.
IF this were true I think a hose rupture would be imminent (think aneurysm here). Very unlikely.
no, but the rubber hose does expand with heat, age, use, this is a FACT, thats why they came up with SS lines which are really a teflon tube protected with SS braid, it does not expand
Sounds like air in the system.
Not mentioned is softness occurs after heavy stopping...then that is fade and a better brake fluid may help.
A Tech II is need to open the ABS circuitry for a complete bleed.
Although doing a few ABS stops before a bleed w/o a Tech can be a worth while move.
