A Corsa axle-back exhaust is installed on my C6 Z06 and a full Kooks header system with integrated cats. The right side exhaust keeps working itself off the rear hangers when I track the car. I installed metal stablizers over the rubber isolators (below). But I am still having this problem. Any ideas?
Is one side of the exhuast shorter? Maybe one of the over axle pipes is pushed to far into the x or h pipe and when you start to corner hard and it moves it pulls forward out of the mounts.

That would be my guess. Need to pull the over axle pipes out a little bit to get it a little further into the hangers.
I've installed exhaust several times. Any system could do this. I would guess that your tips are at least an inch away from where the should stick out the back of the car.
I popped to my local garage to get the problems looked at.
My exhaust is spot on - sounds a little different because of the new cat, and as for the tapping sound, the mechanic reckons, bceause of an oil leak i had coming from the oil pressure warning switch on this engine, the pressure has not been correct causing the timing chain which relies on the oil pressure to start failing. He said that if you leave it the chinking sound will get louder, but best to get it looked at properly as soon as.

The ends both appear to protrude the same distance from the rear of the car. I checked it on a lift and everything appears to be OK. I will double-checked with these suggestions. I may have tightened the reinforcement bands around the isolators too tight restricting back and forth movement. It only happens on a bumpy tracks.

Misunderstood -How far should the tips protrude from the rear of the car?

I think a better question would be, how much of the muffler rod do you have sticking into the hanger? Mark the edge of the rod where it goes in the hanger and then pull it out. My guess is that there isn't enough of the "rod" in the hanger. If the hanger is 1.5" deep and you only have .5" in the hanger, it seems to me that would be your problem. If that's the case then the over axle pipes are pushed to far in, or the X pipe is too far into the headers. Might have to only adjust one of the connections, or both. I really don't know what else could cause this problem, unless you got a set of damaged hangers, but they look fine in the picture.

Thats what I meant. I was referring to the fact that some of the adjoining pieces are pushed in to far.

I had the same problem with my Borla, so did another guy I know. I fixed mine then his both by bending the muffler rod down and out toward the rear of the car a little more. Don't go too far or the rubber isolators will then slip off the mounts bolted to the frame. I used a box end wrench over the rod to bend it.
On both of these cars the muffler tips and joints were lined up perfectly.

You could also unbolt the hanger and shim it foward with 3 5/16 flat washers. It's more of a band-aid than a fix but it might help.
