I have never done a compression test on a car that has the push button start. Is there a special procedure to follow? How many revolutions will it make before it stops? Any info on this is greatly appreciated.
I have a 6 speed manual, after disconnecting the main harness to the coils on the left and right bank (this is to make sure the car will not start) I also will remove the fuel hose going to the fuel rails and cap the fuel line from the tank ( cap it good, there is close to 50 psi there).
Some people pull the fuel pump fuse. I you dont disable the fuel system the excess fuel will wash the cylinders and skew the results not to mention flood the motor. On the standard I push in the clutch and push the starter button, after 3 or 4 hits on the compression gage let up on the clutch and the starter will stop. If you have an auto hitting the button again or let up off the brake I think will stop the starter motor. Need some automatic guys to help me here.
Hope this helps
