I think I'm about to get 1-7/8 Kooks headers on my LS2 A6 with NPP exhaust... what will be the acoustic impact of the Kooks at high RPM? at idle? Will it add any highway drone that the NPP M2W switch can't handle?

I had headers on my 06 coupe, no drone. Installed Magnaflow mufflers and got drone in the 1600 to 2000 rpm range. I got rid of the magnaflows pretty quick and went back to stock mufflers, no drone with headers only.

That's the range! I just pick a different gear to make it go away....
Mine is a Z. Works great with teh stock muffler and headers. I did a back to back on the dyno against an LG GT4 and lost nothing. The stock has the benefit of the valve whcih means radio and CD. Great job
