How did you experience the backfire? Do you have all of the safety parameters operating with your kit?

Wheres your nozzle plumbed into the intake. The placement might not be correct or a solinoid could have stuck open. I would fix what cause your backfire cause before doing it again. The dealer should have the intake in stock. I picked one up not long ago and it was not too expensive new.

To be honest with you....it's not even my car, it's my Fathers car...he is out of the country for a few weeks and i decided to experiment with a throttle body spacer for nitrous that goes between the throttle body and manifold..I hooked everything up per instructions....it even has a remote bottle opener....and while messing around with the car I hit the button and KABOOM went the manifold...man I need the fuel rails, injectors, and of course the manifold...

"I need it FAST"...
Cause he'll be back in a few weeks....

Thanks,
JM

I did a hole shot...on this empty road in the everglades there is nothing out there except Gators and skeeters...
I purged the system and all was well....then i pedal the RPM's to 4800 and dumped the clutch....hit the buton and KABOOM went the motor...

LOL, sounds like some fuel puddled in the intake causing the nitrous backfire. Lemme guess, when you dumped the clutch and hit the spray you lost traction and started gettin on and off the throttle? If so, getting off the throttle caused an excess of unburnt fuel being sprayed by the kit to pool and backfired. Just a guess

Wait Wait, so let me get this right.

Not only did you take your dads car out without asking which is bad enough, you hooked up nitrous to it and pretty much destroyed part of the engine? WTF kinda son are you?

So you never did anything outrageous to your Dad's car when you were 17?

LOL, he's not my Dad, he's my Father, Dad was when i was fifteen years old, I'm in my 40's... he's a real cool guy...look at this way he has been meaning to do some Mods to the Vette, he has been looking at supercharging, so if i can't find an intake with rails and injectors I'll just surprise him with an FAST LXR intake and some new #42 injectors and freshen up his tune and call it a day, I have HP Tuners Pro...

Just sounds like nitrous came on too early and puddled due to low velocity or your got on and off the pedal a bit since you launched on the street.

You might be right, i know i wired things up correctly...
and i'm not going to mention the manufacturer of the nitrous company, because i have dealt with them in the past and it has worked flawlessly...

Were you using a push button setup? Or did you install the WOT switch?

Push buttons are fun, but can be dangerous in regards to timing it jus right with the throttle.
