Default Replacing a Knock Sensor

Hey guys, I did a search for "knock sensor" and could not find any information on replacing one. I was driving yesterday (2006 LS2) and the CEL came on, so I went to AutoZone to see what code is was throwing. It was throwing a P0325 code which is Knock Sensor Malfunction Sensor 1, Bank 1. I just read that the knock sensors on the LS2 on located on the exterior of the block towards the bottom.

I was wondering if anyone here has ever replaced one and if so, how difficult was it? Is the sensor easy to access from under the car?

Thanks in advance,
Luis

ks 1 is on the drivers side bank between the oil filter and the engine mount just above the oil pan. it has a 2 wire connector w/ a dark blue and a gray wire.

better find out if it is the sensor bad or if you have knock problems. replacing the sensor if you have knock, is a waste of money and time. the code WILL come back.................................... .

In order to rule out one of the knock sensors being bad, you might want to consider switching the left one to the right and vice-versa. If the code comes back but it's on the opposite side this time it means the sensor is probably bad, otherwise it might be something else.

Just a thought....

Wouldn't knocking throw an actual knock detection code and not a knock sensor malfunction code?

Good idea.
not necessarily. could have a wiring problem between the sensor and the pcm.................... could also have a mechanical noise the sensor is picking up............................
