Default 18x10-11 wheels

Here is the deal. I have BBS wheels for daily use, but want to get a set of DOT track tires. That means I need a pair of rear wheels that are 18x10-11, because 19" rears are tires are hard to find. I don't want to spend a fortune on wheels and thought about getting a pair of fronts an widening them, but would prefer wheels made the right size.

Any ideas?

Try C5 Z06 wheels (18x10.5) or 18x12 replicas.

Tim, I did just that. Got some 8.5 fronts on E-Bay and sent them out to
be widened to 18x11. Then got tires which are 305/35/18 which work well
for fitment and great traction. They did however cost $1,350 by the time all was said and done but i like having 2 sets of tires.

where are you guys sending these wheels to be widened? and why are you using front wheels to do this with? the backspacing?

Many of us are sending the wheels to "WELDCRAFT" . The OEM front in my case was a chrome spoke and wanted to match the fronts with the rears and not depend on aftermarket wheels of inferior structural quality. The
8.5" fronts are widened to the inside by 2.5" at WELDCRAFT. Then your tire is actually 12.25" wider rubber and there is no clearance issues. They
sit inside the fenderwell with clearance. I have NITTO55R2 tires and they are great. Actually SPINMONSTER pioneered the idea and has a nice writeup on the whole process. Just do a search and check it out. Leon

18X10 is standard Z front size, should not be a problem. I have 18X10.5 HRE's on mine.

Do you know if the Z06 fronts have the correct offset for use on the rear?

I really like that idea.

Update! Z06 fronts are only 9.5".

Sorry Bro, my bad. I know my wheels are 1/2" wider than stock Z. So they are 18X10.

My friend has a set of widenned c6 fronts for use on rear for sale in the canadian for sale section.

Justkin is his sign in name and in his post he says:

As well I have a set of custom widened stock C6 fronts for the rear.
They have been widened 2.5 inches to 11 inches by Weldcraft in Illinois last fall. They come with a set of 305 MT,s almost new from Arun last fall. This tire and wheel combo keeps your car looking completely stock while increasing traction to close to 600rw.
Do a search on this forum...secret recipe.
I want 1100....open to offers....no lowballing please.

You should PM him if you're interested.

Thanks!

I don't need drag tires, so for about the same money the Tire Rack has a set of OZ wheels (all four) with the rears being 18x11.
