Default Does the "Sprint Booster" really work?

This is advertised in Zip Corvette catalog. Anybody have one?

C6 Sprint Boosters: We featured these sprint Boosters in our last email and we are almost sold out. Don't delay, get your booster today. The Sprint Booster will eliminate the delay between your Corvette's gas pedal and throttle body that is common on all drive by wire systems. The Sprint Booster changes the rate at which the throttle body opens in relation to gas pedal operation.
Fits all C6 Corvettes including Z06 and ZR1. - $299.00

I have never noticed a delay so I don't know what problem it is solving. If it does solve a problem.

Seems like there is a lot of Corvette tax on a piece of plastic with no moving parts........

Bill
The delay he speaks of is the delay in the time you press the pedal to the time you actually feel the reaction from the car.

From what Ive heard it just remaps the throttle to pedal position making the throttle open more with less pedal input. Kinda expensive for a relay. If you have tuning software you could probably do it with that.

We have little real world feedback on this for the C6 as it is still new.

What we really need is a a reputable vendor/tuner to step up and test this thing on a stock car that is in for a tune. They could document exactly what kind of difference it makes on a stock and tuned car in terms of the driving behavior. If it sucks, then it speaks great for more people getting a tune. If it works, then the vendor/tuner could offer a package deal for the booster and the tune.

That's exactly what it does, but the aftermarket tuning software doesn't really give access to remap the pedal. I vaguely remember hearing stories that it can cause the PCM to turn to a brick if the logic/mapping is done incorrectly.

It just decreases resolution in the light throttle area.

You can read what I think about it in that thread linked in post# 3, as well as several other threads about the unit in various sections on the forum.

I don't know how it does it, but I like the results - it perked up my throttle response.

I would do it through a tune, but with a tune you reportedly may void your warranty.

This was an expensive way to achieve what I wanted, but I haven't messed with the PCM like a tune would do.

My '05 coupe and '06 Z06 I didn't mind tuning to get a little more hp out of the engine, but with the new car I feel no need for any more power - I just wanted a little friskier throttle response to my accelerator inputs, and that's what I got with this thing!

Hi Bob! don't you mean your writeup of it in posts #18 and 22? Those are the ones I read of your install and subsequent test(s). Sounds very interesting.

Hi Bill

Check you email - I responded to your email questions.

Yes, that's one thread, and here are a couple others;

My main reason for getting it was to avoid getting a tune, which might void the warranty on my 2009. Also, the 2009 is a ZR1, and I don't feel the need for any more power from a tune!
