My 2005 has a very noticeable delay in throttle response when I hammer it. Any idea what is causing this delay?
yes it is a programmed delay in the pedal position to throttle body. as i understand it there is currently no way to program around it. there is a product on the market that offsets the signal out of the pedal to give you a better throttle response. It was recently posted about here, try a search and you will find it I am sure.

Auto tranny? At light throttle/low speeds, if you suddenly floor it, I bet most of the delay is due to the computers trying to figure if you should get a full-power downshift to 1st gear.

Yes it is with auto but the delay is even noticible with the car in park and just burping the throttlle, really causes my right foot problems.
I have an M6 and experience a slight delay as well. This is most likely from the drive by wire system on LS2's idk if there is a delay on LS3's or not too. My LS1 with cable drive responded much quicker and to every little input that I gave it with my foot. But my s/c'd LS2 makes up for it with power
I had the delay pretty bad. Part of the problem can be solved by PORTING
the TB and the rest of it in the TUNE. Any good tuner can take care of the problem. The fix has been around for awhile.
All in the tune. After my first mod to my A6 (Vararam + Longtubes), the LG Motorsports tune woke it up! Nearly 0 delay. Many mods later, and many many of hours tuning, I have it down nearly instant response.
Hmmm, my understanding is that there is a software delay in the computer for whatever GM's reasoning. And, that Chuck Cow in New York is in process of reducing (not eliminating) that delay to a minimum. I will be using his services when I finally purchase some headers....
All the above are valid...tune, booster, TB, design flaw.
Yes, I agree the delay is burdensome w/ heel and toe use.
Yet, just have your RPM (just as 3K) up before you "nail" it.
I'd venture to state that will mask any delay.

Everyone Cross your fingers......!!!
I'm ON IT! and I'm almost finished.
While the Sprint Booster is a neet idea, it's VERY costly.
When I'm done and tested with MY ETC throttle fix, it will be MUCH CHEAPER!
There's a setting in HPTuners 2.22 beta that will get rid of that specifically. There's a bunch of other settings too that will help, but tell that to the tuner and that delay will disappear.
Uh oh. Yes I meant 2.23 Beta. (!!)
BTW throttle response = 0 to 100% -> engine idle to 7,000 RPM in 0.350 sec. So you can get those things moving fast.

Are you sure you don't mean 2.23 beta?
I'm sure a lot of the solutions out there can lessen the delay in throttle response. I can't wait till there is a verified solution that makes the throttle response feel telepathic like a cable operated mechanical system.
I don't notice any delay with my stock LS2. No problem with heel-toe downshifts either. The only time it feels delayed is if it spins the tires and TC kicks in.
