Default Borla Stinger- X-pipe or no X-pipe?????????????

guys,

I have a stock 2007 C6 M6.

I will get a Borla Stinger axle back exhaust very soon.

Don't have the X-pipe yet.

I was wondering how it will effect the sound

e.g. loudness, drone and etc.

I am not too concerned with HP.

I am debating if I should get an X-pipe or not.

Please give me some feedback!!

Thank You!!

I have the Borla Stinger Quad on my 06 with the orginal x pipe and it sounds great. Yes the drone is there but nothing concerning. I get a lot of compliments on the sound and my sweetheart like it too!

I added the Borla X-pipe to the GM off-road (some as the Borla stinger) and didn't notice any change in the sound. If you're not too interested in HP gains, I'd forget the X-pipe. I'm not sure it does much in that regard, anyway.

It seems like X-pipe won`t do much sound wise

I have an '07 C6 6_spd and did the X-pipe with the Borla Stinger exhaust, as well as vararam snakecharmer intake, and it has a great sounds to it....a little drone, but not bad. Perfect for those of us that talk on the phone while driving. Noticed a significant increase in power as well...

so if you were to rate drone with Borla Stingers

1 being good 10 being very bad

how you would rate it with and without X-pipe

Well i would say its a 5, bc i dont mind the drone.

I cant answer your second question, however, bc i put on everything at the same time.

They didnt start adding x pipes stock until 09 on the C6 so if your midpipe is stock, its an h-pipe. Adding an X pipe will change the tone for the better in my opinion, but you wont gain much in the way of Hp.

I guess it won`t hurt to add an X-pipe from what people are saying.

but also it won`t make much of a difference.

I also don`t mind drone, but just want it to be bad.

anyone else?

I am no expert and this might sound stupid, but if I just wanted to get rid of the drone.

would it be possible for a muffler shop to put a 3 inch pipe between the stock H-Pipe to equalize the pressure?

Again I am not looking to gain HP doing this.
