50# Fuel Injectors? Really?
Posting here in the C6 section because my thread is LS3 related...
Yesterday I ordered a bunch of parts because I am putting an LS3 in my C5 coupe. The new motor will have...
a mild cam (224/230 or so)
FAST 102 intake w/ 102mm TB
LG Pro LT Headers
Callaway Honker CAI.
OK, so I called up Hinson Motorsports to order some parts and also asked them what injectors they recommended. I was kind of shocked when they recommended a 50# fuel injector for this build, but I took their advice and purchased them. Now, I’m wondering if that was the best injector for my needs? Since this is an LS3 (and I don’t want to play around with spacers) my options are 39# or 50#. I’m not really concerned about the price, but I want what is best suited for my needs.
My S/C makes 522rwhp and has 60lb Motron injectors. They are the norm for S/C applications in the 500-600rwhp range. 50-60 should be in the ball park for your needs.
Does not sound like you will need them with those mods. There's alot of web programs to estimate your injector requirements. Now. Did they come with tuning parameters? Changing to different injectors involves a bit of tuning. It can be a mess. Not a plug and play bolt on. If in doubt you could have your old ones enlarged at fuelinjectorconnection.com. Less tuning parameters need to be changed that way.

The car is getting a completely different motor, cam, intake, headers, throttle body, MAF, gears, you name it. There will be tuning until my tuner turns blue. No worries about trying to save a little work on this one. We will have to start with a clean slate no matter what.

What is wrong with the stock LS3 injectors? They are the same as the LS7 and will easily support ~ 575-600 WHP N/A. I do not think that LS3 is going to make that much.
I do not think my stock injectors have ever seen 95% dc at our HP level.

Probably nothing wrong with stock other than the fact that I don't have any. I asked hinson what I needed and they said the fast 50's. How much is a set of stickers?
