Unless you have absolutely no mechanical aptitude, you can do it yourself and save A LOT of money. I just did a brake job on my 2007
Z51, got the parts from Gene Culley-a forum vendor. Corvette brakes are easy to do, especially if you have a manual!
Dude 13: GM partshouse (Gene Culley) is here on the forum, and has OEM parts for Corvette. He also has a web page, and you can call him, or furnish him with your VIN, and he will make sure you have the correct parts you need.
The stealership is killing you with the labor rates-ask me how I know!

Which model do you have? Base, or Z51? Did they say you need pads or pads and rotors? Unless you are driving with your foot on the brakes that is a low mileage for those brake pads. With normal street highway driving you should see above 35K miles.
Hello Bill
I bought it used pretty sure Z51 the vin # tells the dealer that its the best braking system corvette has it has the drilled rotors. I was thinking 30 or 40000 mile on brakes also.
Hey, Dude 13: I have a Z51, bought used, and had to do a brake job with only about 25k on the odometer, so the stock Z51 pads wear our fairly quickly. I replaced the stock pads with ceramic pads, since I don't track the car.
Buy a good set of pads and have a local shop that specializes in vettes install them for you at their flat hourly rate. should take 1 to 1.5 hours to install about $150. tops for labor. I changed my 08 brakes, which squeaked at 15k miles and brakes were half worn, to Hawk pads. I usually change my own brakes but got lazy and let the local vette shop do it while I watched, they greased all the pins and put anti squeal lube behind the pads,no more squeaks.

Something smells fishy! Get a second opinion (preferably your own)!!
Some people experience squeeling at low sped with the Z51 brake package. I did with my first set of OEM pads but did not with the second. Does the car squeel all the time, only when on the brakes, or only while on the brakes at low speed?
I sent you a PM with some pricing, but feel free to bring it by and we will put it on the lift and you can see for yourself if you need them.
