Manual transmission replacement time
sometimes when I try to put my car into 2nd gear the transmission just grinds like the clutch isn't engaged at all. Sometimes it goes in fine and sometimes it will not work at all. I am going to take it to the dealer but I think it might be the synchro ring and that I may need to replace the manual transmission. I am wondering how much longer this might take than replacing the clutch alone. I am thinking it should be around 20-25 hours in the shop. Hopefully GM will cover it under warrant :/

This may sound basic...but, have you cleaned out your clutch fluid lately? It is amazing how much that helps. Your situation may be more serious then that....but, I would definately try changing the fluid first.
