I have a 2006 with a A6 tranny. When I went to shift from park to drive it was stuck a little and I thought it was just a little preload on the drive train (it was on a lift and the wheels blocked ). I pulled out and could not shift into anything but drive and neutral so I drove around the block and put it back on the lift.I have taken the shifter button off and it feels like somthing with it vs the tranny.Any help would be appreciated. I also looked on the forum for details on how to remove the center console but couls not find anything so if someone knows where I can find removal instructions that would be great also Thanks.

We replace them on a regular basis. Go get a shifter control assembly from the dealer and put it in. If it is under warranty, then even better.
Thanks, Do you know if there is a post with instructions on how to remove the center console and or replace the shifter control? I have taken many interiors apart over the years and it is helpful to know what sequence and where fastners are. Thanks again
B&M has a site which pretty clearly shows the process- I don't have the link handy but It is for there stick shift replacement - does show the console tricks
