Default Fuel Rail Cover Question?

I am installing my new FAST 92 intake in a couple of weekends and from what I have seen and heard here is my stock FRC's will not fit unless you scribe and cut them? Has anyone cut their FRC's to fit a FAST 92? If so, cut someone possibly make and mail me a template? Reason being is that my covers are getting painted in about a week and half and I would much rather cut these before they are painted rather than risk screwing up a new paint.

Thanks,

Mike

It's really easy. Just hold the FRC's up to the FAST and use a pencil to trace the new shape of the few runners that don't fit onto the FRC, then use a dremel to cut it to shape.

Thanks Joe.

The way I figured you had to cut these was to have the intake on the car first, then try and secure the FRC's to their position and whatever needed trimming you would do so? I just don't know where the covers will sit in relation to the intake if both are off the car in which they are now and how much would be needed to be trimmed.

yes just wait until you have the intake on, then put the frc's on, and you will see what needs to be trimmed. Only takes a minute or two.

I kind of figured it would be easy to do, really didn't have a problem with that. My only concern was that the intake is going to be installed by myself and a friend in 2 weeks but the covers are going off to the painters in a week and a half and I really did not want to trim these when they were freshly painted. I'm too afraid that I may chip or wreck the new paint job? Just don't want to handle these anymore than I have to. I just held the covers up to the intake in the house but it is hard to figure out if I am too far forward or to far backward to gauge where I would have to trim?

I guess the only thing it to trim after painting?

I trimmed mine after they were painted and it wasn't a problem. I painted mine 4 years ago with Rusteoleum Plastic paint and they have held up perfectly to my daily driving and racing.

You have a bigger risk of screwing them up getting them over the fuel line. I usually wrap my line with blue tape.

Default Another view of modified FRCs

I used the sanding drum on the Dremel, and cut away until I liked the fit.

Thanks guy's.

Your photo's help alot. At least I can get an idea where the covers fit over and in relation to the intake with them, (intake and covers off of the car) to get me started. Much rather try and get them cut and close before they get painted.
