I have a 2005 C6 M6 and am looking to invest in a Hurst short throw shifter. I found the Hurst short throw shifter that just bolts right in. Before I buy this just wanted to know what you all thought. I heard you grind gears more easier with this, is this true?
Had the Hurst. Rattled too much. Dumped it for the Callaway. Much happier with the Callaway. I hear good things about the MGW shifter as well. Try a search.
Wha t is a good website for the MGWV? anyone else have comments on the MGW?
Yes, had an MGW in my '08 Vette and in my '04 Cobra. LOVED them! By far the best shifters on the market IMO. I now have an '07 Vette that came with a Hurst, and I HATE it! To be fair, some of what I dislike may be due to the fact that the '08s have a smoother shifting transmission in general, but I will be swapping out the Hurst for an MGW ASAP.
MGW makes shifters for only a few types of cars (Vettes, Mustangs, Vipers), and the general consensus within the respective enthusiast communities for each car is that MGW is the best shifter, period. While you're at it, get the "race" shift ****. Had it on my '08 Vette and loved it.
You can only buy them direct at www.mgwltd.com Shifter is $250 and the race **** is $55.
