Default RPI Design Air Filter Element

I just purchased a re-usable element for my 2009 LS3. In order to install it is it necesssary to remove the whole assembly from the throttle body/MAF or am I missing an easier way to get it done?
Thanks for the help.

Just loosen the clamp on the flex tube at the T/B and pop the housing off the studs. Then lay it to the side to pull the filter. Leave the sensor connected, umless you want to remove the unit completely.

Sounds like you purchased the Attack Blue LS3/LS7 high flow filter.
Correct?

If so, You will need to take off the stock air box. This makes it much easier to install the the filter and get to all the hold down screws (star torx screws actually) in front.

To do so you will need to loosen the strap that tightens to the throttle body. Unscrew the maf (again with star torx wrench). Since you said 2009, unhook the 3 round rubber hold down grummets.

Once out, Remove the 6 torx screws that hold the stock filter in place.
Place the new filter in. Push it down. Place the front grill back on. When I put the screws back in, I do a cross pattern like a wheel. Then put everything above back on... cake. Takes about 15 min.

Hopefully that helps
