Default 1/4's with slow 60'

I'm interested in hearing what members have run in the quarter mile in cases of poor 60' times, say over 2.00, and in particular over 2.20. Trap and DA would be interesting too... the bad 60' could be due to wheelspin, altitude, driver error or whatever... I'm just curious what results people are getting with these kinds of starts

I ran for my first time last year and started with a street start more or less.
The car put down 400hp and 378 tq on a dynojet it is a 2008 ls3 manual with z06 full exhaust and an airaid intake the car was untuned.

r/t .281
60' 2.407
330 5.840
1/8 8.583
mph 91.23
1000 10.881
1/4 12.810
mph 117.58

Hope this helps

very little reason for a 60' to be over 2.00. if it is, you should JUST consintrate on that.

the rule of thumb is this..

for EVERY tenth you take off your sixty, it is worth between 11/2 to 2 full tenths on the big end of the track in your e.t...

bluev2srt, thanks for the data, this is exactly what I'm looking for

craftfox, I agree with your rule of thumb that a tenth in the 60 is generally worth about 1.5 to 2 tenths at the end, but I'm looking for actual timeslip data, cause as you know theres alot of variation in the real world. I disagree with the idea that there's no reason for a 60 over 2.00. There are many reasons and it is very common despite the fact that it doesn't get discussed much.

Please share timeslip data for these kinds of runs if you have it, thanks

From my own experience, bad 60' time means bad 1/4 mile time. Period.

When my car was on the 4.63 pulley and less than 10:1 AFR (was like this when I got it, it is changed now) I went 12.36 @ 118 with a 2.2 60 ft. I launched at idle and I was only putting down 415whp on a dynojet at the time. I will get some new numbers this year with 505whp.

Thanks for the data guys. Here are the slow 60' results that I have run, or seen others run while I was at the track.

stock:
stock LS2 manual orig. tires (me) 12.92 on a 2.20 60'
stock LS2 auto orig. tires 13.17 on a 2.07 60'
stock LS3 auto orig. tires 12.64 on a 2.05 60'

mod:
blown LS2 auto on street tires 12.38 on a 2.05 60'
blown and cammed Z06 on drag radials 11.42 on a 1.99 60'

I know it's an awkward question, cause it asks people to share data on "bad runs", but poor 60's are common due to poor track prep, high DA, crappy tires, or just driver error. Please continue to share info if you are willing, stock folks too. If you don't have the quarter et, the 1/8 et will do just as well.

My run was due to poor tuning, unprepped track, and 19" runflats. It definitely wasn't DA, temp was in the 60's and a storm had just moved through so humidity was down. I am also not the greatest driver in the world but can hold my own. If I had a decent non runflat tire it would have made a world of difference.

I had a bad 60' time due entirely to driver error (2.25) as it was my first time racing ever. Nearly done F1 EMT's were the tires. This was on a 1/8 mile track. 8.33 @ 92.5 mph.

Also note: A&A SC kit with tune are the only mods.

Only track I've been to in my area was poorly prepped, from what the regulars claim, and my first trip to the strip in this car.

60' was in the 2.3 range. Bogged all night, or spun, counldn't find a middle ground.

Was an 1/8 mile track and my best was a 8.1 @ 95

Went 2.1 in the 60' and then wheelhopped at each shift and had to lift everytime. Car went 12.6 @ 116. Bought a set of dragradials, hoping that will eliminate the wheel hop! I know this car can go 11.6 or so...

Went 2.2 in my old mustang (turbo small block ford) and went 9.0 @ 172 ...LOL

You dont know much at all do you. Just because you have junk that cant, doesnt mean it can't be done.

Car made well over 1200rwhp on a mustang dyno. Went 8.80's on 93 octane. Look up wazslow, plenty of pics and video. Car was in several magazines(Muscle Mustang and Fast Fords, 5.0 Magazine, Fastest Street Car, Race Pages, Hot Rod... and on hot rod tv...

Here is the picture and caption from Muscle Mustang magazine on that very pass...

http://www.musclemustangfastfords.co.../photo_27.html

Here is a pic of the car 200 or so foot down the track when the boost controller starts bringing in the booost...

Here is a pic of the motor.

8.17 pass on 19 lbs of boost with a hurt turbo on the top end.

Smoking 325 50 15 drag radials like nothing for an 1/8 mile...

Thank man, I appreciate it.

Its frustrating when you work hard to build something, and then have someone with no clue discredit your work!
