Hey guys, After adding my cam last week and picking up the extra Hp.It's safe to say my old stock ls2 clutch has kicked the can..I have a cam only 05 that i do drag race on occasion, after doing all the pricing and research i've decided to go with the ls7 clutch..What i'd like to know is can i use my stock flywheel,if not which one, also does anything else have to be changed along with the clutch, and pressure plate..Any info would be greatly appreciated.
I believe the clutch assembly consists of the new flywheel/disc/pressure plate. Thought some forum parts vendors had specials on them recently.
I also had the slave cylinder & pilot bearing replaced at the same time & got the clutch bleeder line in there as well.
Might as well replace anything that can go wrong now, since labor is what's expensive.
Of course, if you are able to handle the work yourself and it's not your daily driver, then maybe you can go with the minimum of parts.
Are you still running the stock 05 differential? If you are, the stickier clutch with more power from the cam has a high probability of cracking your diff. Consider upgrading and regearing for track use.
