i just recived my fast 102 from hinson, great service and fast shipping. I just installed it and when i started it up it sounds like its leaking air... i checked all 8 valves but no leaks and no engine light or odd idle. it has a vararam intake and a ported throttlebody, non tuned. it just sounds like alot of air traveling, i was wondering if this is normal or do i just have a leak somwhere i missed?
It could be a leak but I'm thinking that you're simply hearing the classic FAST intake manifold hollow/rushing airflow sound, they do tend to make more noise than the stock intake manifold.
delaware, yea i no one i know has a fast or a c6 for that matter lol, but it just sounds like alot of air all at once. so it is possible its just me , i just have never heard one before so im not sure what is or isnt normal
If it helps any, I went from a stock LS3 intake and TB to having both ported. I have a 404 stroker w/ LS3 intake and TB. After porting and reinstallation, I had the infamous FAST hollow air rushing sound. As stated previously, it really does sound like a a hollow air rushing sound. If the car is not misfiring, hesitating, or stalling . . . I would think your install would be alright. If you do have these problems you can check further by using some of the tips on this link: http://www.aa1car.com/library/vacleak.htm. ie . . . smoke machine or exhaust analyzer. A new tune would also definitely help.
