Default Next mod ... need guidance.

Well for anyone who is looking in this section of the forum understands that we all want more power.

I bought my car that had the Halltech Venom Intake on it and i put the Corsa Xtreme Cat-back system on it in Feb. They did a dyno run and a tune and i had about 358 HP at the wheels.

I would like to keep things reasonably decent for a while till its all paid off but would really like to be putting 400rwhp down to the ground. Of course eventually i would like to shoot for 500 but thats much later.

Headers i know are the next big one. Between Kooks and American Racing i think are who i will go with. I have read a lot about going 1 3/4 on the header if you don't have tons of power but heard some conflicting information this weekend? I know i will neeed a 3" x 2 1/2 catted X-pipe since my Corsa has 2 1/2 connectors to the X outlets. Just wondered what 1 7/8 would do for me vs the 1 3/4.

The only major bolts-ons i could think about are in the intake area but i think i would like to do the 102mm LSXr Intake Manifold with the 102mm Throttle Body 100mm MAF for a full combo there.

Any thoughts?

i just got my car tuned today...378hp and 370tq... i have a vararam, ported throttlebody and a fast 102. So i recommend the fast for sure! either way a fast or headers are going to do you good. im not sure if you would be doing the work yourself but i found it rather easy to install the fast, the headers doesnt look as easy

I make over 500rwhp SAE on 1 3/4" headers. Thought about swapping but the gains dont look worth it at 500hp. Maybe 650-700+ is where it really pays off or with bigger cubes.

I've installed and removed both and headers are just as easy as the FAST I think. Of course, they take a bit more time but are straight fwd.

Is there a reason you don't include LG headers on your list? They are right around the corner from you.

Unless you are going forced induction (super charger/turbo charger) or a much larger cubic inch motor, stay with 1 3/4" primary tube American Racing, Kooks, or LG Super Pro headers.

You should consider a cam change. Most experienced LS folks will tell you that a cam change will net you more power per dollar than almost any other modification. Just don't go wild on the cam selection.

I have heard about problems with fitment issues and how they seal/connect in comparison to the other two brands. They have some great proven numbers no doubt there, but really going for the longevity in this car.

Its tough because you read some people have LGs and stand by them, other say they have issues with them. Exhaust is pretty hard to screw up, but when i get into the more crucial mods i have noticed many different opinions.

Its my daily driver, but i am going to try and make it pretty powerful over time. Quality Quality Quality!!

Cams open a whole new box of worms. Cams and heads seem like a great upgrade to do with the intake manifold all around the same time since a lot of the engine would be apart as it is. I would like to try and do a few mods all together to really get some noticable gains in the seat too.

I put on the 1 3/4" LG Streets, high flow cats and X pipe on over the weekend. Good quality and all fit as it should. Great price too.

Did you get a dyno done as well, just wondering you what gained with just the headers?

Headers, ported intake manifold, ported TB, roller rocker arm upgrade (if you don't want the massive labor of a camshaft install), underdrive crank pulley.....fun stuff!
