Default Cleaned vararam after yr.

I HAVE THE UPDATED THICKER BOX AND NEW GASKETS. First thing I did was re glue the gaskets with 3m weather stripping adhesive ( yellow ). gaskets still in place no movement and nothing past the filter. Tapped the filter a few times and a fair amount of dirt fell out. Filter itself not real stained looking. Will clean and re install for another yr. I put maybe 6,000 miles a yr. Not complaints other than the Vararam must be checked for proper fit. I am confident know on my installation.

Installation is key, I had to cut 1 inch off both orange tubes to get it to lay flat close to radiator and not bow up and rub the hood pad. I have had no trouble in two years now.

Does that type of filter have to be oiled?

Did the same thing for the last 2 years. My concern is we're driving to Florida the end of May & I am worried about the 'love bugs"!?!
Hey guys, should I be????

Not sure if this is a serious question, but yes. Leave them on the paint in the sun for a few days and they'll eat right through it. I learned this the hard way on a brand new pick-up I bought.

Well, it is a serious question. I will have a bra & the mirror bra-etts on. But, I am also worried about ingesting the little buggars into my Vararam. Been thinking about buying some screening at Lowes & covering the inlet. As for cleaning my Vararam, I have the cleaning kit. It does a great job, but, I might just take a spare filter on my trip.
