I have a really odd problem with my car. The door wont always open for me. I keep the fob in my pocket so thats not an issue. When I try to open the door, the light (that replaces the manual lock on the top of the inside of the door) turns to a solid red when i squeeze the door release and the door wont open.
What I do to fix the issue is hit the hatch button a few times on the fob and the hatch will finally open. Then I am able to open the car door and close the hatch. Odd.
I am not sure why this is happening. It does it 95% of the time after I wash the car, but it also does it at random times when the car is not wet.
Sounds like your door switch pads are dirty. Take them out, take them apart and clean all of the internals with isopropyl alcohol, wait for it to dry (alcohol evaps fast), reinstall and you should be good to go.
There are two Philips head screws holding the door handle in, then a connector to remove once you slide it out.

Any thoughts?
You have mostly check this already but, just in case you haven't. Change the battery in the FOB. I had the same problem with my 05 a few weeks ago. Change out the bat. and it hasn't happen since.
No need to reprogram, I had the same issue you are experiencing and I found shaking the fob would alow me to open the door, so replaced the battery and no reprogramming was required.
try this cuz i had the same prob and also my hummer has the same prob. if you have a car charger or aftermarket navi in your car plugged in when i locks it takes minutes for sometimes to open and the hummer to unlock. make sure theres nothing plugged in. my buddy works at the dealership and told me this. never had a prob again with either. good luck

I put a new battery in and have been good for 18 hours so far. Fingers crossed that this was the easiest and cheapest fix in the history of my life...

Cleaning battery contacts and tweaking the spring contacts will have your problem fixed with old battery, thats why shaking the fob will make it work
