Default finally got it out

Well I finally did my heads and cam after about a year and a half of sittin on the parts. I have an 05 A4 vert. I ran 12.27@114.51 with lts and vararam and self tune on stock runflats. I installed ls3 heads l76 intake, ls7 injectors, a big cam- 231,240 617,613 cam(kinda big for stock gears and converter,, i will change soon) and i ported my throttle body. Jeremy at horsepower sales has been working with me through emails to get the tune right. It fired right up when i did the heads/cam! I ran it last tues and ran 11.99@121.25 with a 2.05 60ft and ran 96.5 in the eighth. The DA was 2800 when I ran. its still on stock runflats and spun in first gear and spun worse on the 1-2 shift(about 3 car lengths). I have 3.42 gears and about a 3500 converter that should make this thing hopefully in the 11.15@124 range(thats my guesstimate). anyone running similar combos?

How much power are you putting down or do you know? I have a A4 wit a 224/228 cam (mild) ported/milled LS2 heads, ported FAST, LG LTs, Honker, No cats, tuned, and have about 443/420 hp/tq. I am going to b putting in 3.42 gears real soon. How big of difference will those make from my 2.73s? Is that what you went from?

I still have the stock 3.15 gears and stock converter. Im not sure but I think you are still running the stock converter??? I am probably making about 465ish rwhp (hasnt been on a dyno) The gears will help alot. I would think that you could probably run 11.6s now and gears and converter would chop .4 to .5 off. I think the converter makes as much or more ore the improvement but they compliment each other. On my old c5 vert i went from bone stock 13.13 @ 106 to 12.7s@ 107 with only gears and converter...nothing else and ran a 1.81 60 on the stock runflats.

Get some DRs to get the power down to give you a real baseline.

I agree. Im sure I could go 11.80 with decent traction with stock gears and converter. that puts it around .6 need to gain to run the 11.15 that I think it will run. I probably stand to gain more than a typ. H\C because i have such a big cam.

Gotcha, I know theres more in it too. im goin through the traps at barely 5000 and im getting about a 2500 rpm drop on the shifts. I almost have to over rev to not drop so low in the rpms to keep in the sweet spot. If I had some stickies I would run it thurs. night.
