I have this annoying buzz somewhere in my dash on my '08 coupe. It seems to be coming from the air conditioning ducts in the center of the dash. It starts when the speedo hits around 70 mph. I know this could be caused by just about anything but I was just wondering if anyone has had a similar issue and found a solution.
Don't want to take it to a dealer because they will just mess up the car and not actually fix the problem. At least that's been my experience.
I think there is a long thread on this somewhere here in tech. I don't remember what the solution was, but I heard that noise in my '08 last weekend again after 6 months of not hearing it. When you find the thread, post it here or bump it ttt.
the vent cover on top of the dash/blowing into windshield may be loose.
mine is loose on one side and ever slightly bows upward. i do not know how that cover attaches, so i have not touched it except to verify one side can be pressed slightly down/flatter.
however, mine does not make buzzing noise there, but maybe different roads can rattle that vent cover up & down if it's loose?
On my 08 one of the rear hooks that hold the back side of the glove box to the dash was sticking out just a bit and moving slightly causing a buz at certain rpms and speeds. It took me quite some time to figure out where it was coming from...
I fixed it putting a very small sticky felt pad, similar to the ones one would use under chair leg on hard wood floors, between the back side of the glove box and the hook sticking out.
Still working now after about 2k miles.
Hope it helps, if it comes from there...

I will check the glove box and the cowl. Hard to pin down when the car needs to be going at least 70 and your driving.
