I'm having problems with my AH and TC, when I'm driving, I get the "Service Active Handling" message come up on the DIC and my traction control "picture of the car burning rubber" comes on.
I can be in 2nd at low speeds and when I give it a bit of gas, the whole rear end breaks loose and I get wheel spin. It's annoying as I can't drive the car unless I stay off the gas.
Any ideas or a possible cause of the problem would be appreciated. Just a side not, but my "Service tire monitor" message is also coming up and the air pressure in all four tires reads "XXX".
Do you have a C6 or a C5? Your profile is confusing.
If you have a C6 the TPMS have to be working for the A/H and T/C to work correctly. xxx, high or low pressure readings will cause A/H and T/C to default.

Thanks a lot, huge help! I have a C6 and the AH problem only started after the Service Tire Monitor message came on.

Thanks again!
If you have "xx psi" displayed on the DIC, it sounds like your sensors aren't programmed into your TPMS computer in the car.
Did you recently get new wheels with different sensors?
If so, they'll need to be logged into the TPMS memory by doing a relearn procedure, which requires a special tool that transmits a radio frequency to trigger the sensor to send its data to the TPMS computer.
At least a tool is required for a 2005 to 2009 C6. If you've got a 2010 it has a different TPMS and uses different sensors, and the sensors can be triggered during the relearn procedure by changing air pressure in the tire.

Just got my recall notice today (#10118) for some 2005 models. It has the number 1800-630-2438 for concerns about this recall.
Details include
Why
Repeated movement of steering column may result in signal interupption causing SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING on DIC. One or more of the brakes may apply possibly causing vehicle to pull to left or right. If driver does not respond to movement a crash could occur
What will they do
inspect wire connection in column and if necessary install a clip to secure the connection. Work done at no charge and will take approximately 20 mins
If you already paid for the repair you may request reimbursement and still need to take the car in for inspection.

That may or may not be what his problem is. There are a number of things that can cause a Service Active Handling message. Definitely too many to say it is the recall problem without knowing what diagnostic codes are shutting down his system.
This recall almost cost me a totaled vette today!!!
Driving 70mph and front left wheel locks up and service active handling pops up, but I safely made it off the road during a BAD thunderstorm, got this letter in the mail and threw it away thinking it wont happen to me...
When I was getting the DIC message, I turned AH/TC off as soon as I started the car. That prevents the system from 'driving' the car for you.
This is just a temporary band-aid until you can get your car in for the recall repair or further diagnosis if necessary.
Fortunately in my case, the connector fix solved the problem, so far.
Get this corrected ASAP. Be safe.
I tried to turn it off and it wouldnt?? ever had that.... by holding down the button till it says " TC AH off" all I kept getting was " service active handling " even after resetting it... anyways car is at the Dealership now
I had the same exact thing happen to me, 2 days ago.
I took it to the dealer and it turned out to be a sensor of some sort with a short in it. Covered under warranty get the car back today!
THEY WONT WORK ON MINE BEACUSE I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT?!? unless they run a 98.00 dynastic test to see what it is they will not fix it, well the engine light is due to running long tube headers no cats and B&B bullets so this throws up an o2 code...
I called the General Manager and he had never heard of this and got the car in and out with in an hour!! GREAT GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE, also ordered me a new roof, got the gas cap replaced and checked the power steering lines per the recall
