PS, where are you located? I am presently drawing up a sale offer for whomever wants to install a Super Bee, Killer Bee II and/or VA scoop in their ride.
I don't have any hared time or speed info, but, after installing the Vette-Air and a homemade cold air box like the Halltech I did got to the track. The Vette Air and cold air box dropped my IAT from 147 degrees at launch to 95 degrees at the end of the 1/4 mile. AAT was in the high 80's.
On a cross country trip AAT and IAT remained the same for hours. Sure helps with heat sink!

And that means NO loss power due to timing fluctuations by the ECU.
Can a Vette Air be installed with a Callaway Honker? Benefits?
Yes, but it all depend how you cut the hole for the Honker.
One of the biggest benefits is cooler air due to a ram effect. The Honker is a nice piece but you suck in hot air which floats around the radiator cavity. The Vette-Air scoop keeps the hot air away from streaming into your filter/motor.

I must be missing something here. I'm thinking with a true CAI that my temps will be low at the beginning of the 1/4 not just at the end. My stock intake will give me good temps going 120 MPH.
It seems to me that a lot of time is being pulled at the starting line. Like I said....I must be missing something. Please fill me in.

Your MAF and temp sensor are in the engine compartment, behind the radiator and in front of the intake manifold, and subject to convection heating. So if the housing is hot, air passing by it gets the transfer heat. With the Vette Air, the continuous flow of increased "outside" cold air counter acts the heat sink.

Myhardtop....do you have a picture of the Vette-Air installed? I have never seen one....sure would like to see a picture of one sitting in front of the radiator.

because I already have it! Huge improvement in IAT. I originally got the Killer Bee and my IAT's were all over the place and would sky rocket at lights. Made tuning pretty difficult. Then, I got the bee hive and Vette-Air and got it all dialed in. 441rwhp and 421rwtq on an LS3 with the above intake mods, LT headers, and Corsa exhaust with tune. I'm happy to say the least.
I bought the LG version because I got a good deal on the demo. I'm not sure it made any difference. This is being used with the Callaway intake so can't install it the conventional way.. you have to mount it under the intake to direct air upwards.
For intakes like K&N and Halltech i'd expect a big difference by getting real cold air.

Insom, do you happen to have any pics? I have a Honker too and after studying pics of the Vette Air installation an the Honker installation, they are incompatible in the standard install of the Vette Air. Do you have specifics on how you installed it differently?
We'll since bolts were not in the position needed to work it is zip tied in place. I'm thinking of doing a back to back run at the track to see the difference with and without.

No pics yet.
Let us know amigo.
Remember, WE [Vette-Air] were the originators...and it is made here in the U.S.A!!!
