Default Cylinder head advice

I am thinking of upgrading my ls2 to the ls3 heads and intake. Does anyone know how much hp gains I should expect to see, also can i use my stock injectors and throttle body with this setup?

There is a lot of info on this swap. Have you done a search here and on the other LS1 forums?

Its hard to pinpoint an exact gain. You should see a gain but my guess is that without changing cams it will be minimal... unless you already have a performance cam in there?
Porting the LS3 intake doesnt hurt either.

My question regarding the Op's inquiry has always been is it worth it to go this route or to consider doing some as cast Trick Flow 220's and a 102 FAST (assuming a larger than stock cam is already in place or part of the equation)

Its really hard to say. The OEM heads have caught up with the aftermarket in some cases.

Research is your best friend, look for examples of what your thinking about doing and compare results. My guess is the 220 is better than the oem but when you add total budget of ls3 intake and head vs TFS and FAST how much more power are we talking about making over the other?.

so All I can say is do some research and look for results of people who have similar combinations of what your looking to do.

For the OP what heads do you have now? what are the casting numbers? Cam swap? stock LS2 not a 402?

There are some really good results with ported LS3/L92 heads, I didn't really look for anyone doing a swap for stock castings but here is some quick info I found:

GM's new LS3 head represents a phenomenal leap in capacity over previous cathedral port castings. In as-cast form this head moves only 313cfm at a whopping 260cc port volume.

I have a stock ls2 long block. I am just looking into cost effective options. I noticed that the intake valves in the ls3 heads are quite abit larger than my 243 ls2 heads. I'm not really looking to build a 10 sec thumper, just alittle more. I already have added headers catted x, varram, tbs, cow tune.

Fits any LS family engine with 4" bore or bigger.

Flows 316 cfm on a 4" bore. SO there is power to be made

The stock LS2 flows 260.

Cant say what would see straight across but it could actually be decent looking at the numbers now. A search for some numbers from a LS2 with some stock L92s or LS3's is what you should do.
