drone vs. sound deadener
Just installed these flowmasters I had purchased from a forum member.
They are the 17427 american thunders, they sound good, look good, but have a drone at or about 1800rpm.
I have seen recently the group bye about this sound deadener you
guy's made with eddy at TKO.
My question is :
How many decibels will this mat reduce ?
Will it remove some of the drone?

Hopefully one of the guys with the Block-IT replies. When I researched the "Drone" it was more of a low frequency vibration which LS motors are prone to.
Prone to the drone, that rhymes.
Well, the sound deadening works well on higher frequency sounds such as road noise from the tires.
I had a Magnaflow axle back setup which was great till I added some LT headers.
In the end, the best solution for me was to either get NPP or Modified Z06 mufflers with MTW or go back to stock.
I am now running stock mufflers with my 1 7/8 long tube headers & high flow cats & x-pipe. Quiet as a mouse until I open her up and no drone.
NPP's would have been my choice but I don't mind the quiet now after hearing the dreaded drone.
Just my opinion though.
