LS3 to LS7 Similarities
Hey Everybody,
I just went from a supercharged LS2 to a stock LS3.
If I understand correctly the LS3 has vastly improved intake flow.
I believe that this is due to the LS3 and LS7 sharing intake and head components, is this correct?
If so, I am running Corsa Sports with a no drone X Pipe for sound only.
Does any one have direct experience with a stock LS7 cam only in a stock LS3?
While I am at it, I will bet one of you Z 06 Guys has a take out cam to sell me.
.
Please help, keep me from doing stupid things to my car.

Why worry about making mistakes when the Governmnet can make them for you. "JoesC5"

no the ls3 and ls7 have different heads and intake yes the Ls3 has better heads than the ls2. as for the cam thing not a clue but I know a Spinmonster spec cam is a great combo that gives good power and driveablity. but I don't think you will get much out of the LS7 cam for the money it takes to replace it anyway.

LS3 to 7
Lockman,
Thanks for the reply.
I am going to do a supercharger when Callaway goes to new style like Edelbrock, or do LS7 swap.

Edelbrock S/C
Steve,
Did Callaway last time.
I believed it to be a proven system.
The jury is still out on the Edelbrock, I believe, no bashing just waiting.

Callaway has been doing the new style superchargers (like Edelbrock) for a while now. They are using the TVS based kits. They do require a different hood though. If you are waiting for Callaway to do a kit based where they don't need a different hood, you will be waiting forever.

I doubt you'll see any gains at all using an LS7 cam. This could be because the LS7 cam is ground for 1:1.8 rockers and not 1:1.7 rockers.

LS3 to 7
I have the opportunity to buy a long block LS7, can I swap and redress with my LS3 parts?
Change injectors and re-tune?
Thanks Kevin
