Default E3 plugs on Z06

I have an '07 Z06 and am wondering if anyone has had any issues with the E3 plugs. When I am driving and not accelerating much (almost coasting) the car seems to jump or slightly buck. It does it in any gear but mostly feel it in 5th when I am going about 45. It's not real bad, but gets on your nerves a little. I put the E3s in as soon as I got the car and I'm not sure if the stock plugs were OK. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem.

(Also just started getting the check charging system message at idle and I have heard some plugs can cause this also)

Have you did a search here on the forum? I have read here many times not to use them as they cause problems with the ignition. I suggest you go back to the stock plugs before you damage something severly.

Just installed E3's before I took the car out of storage. So far no problems.

We have had a couple customer's come in with them in their car wanting retunes. Each time it was the plugs causing issues. Went back to standard NGK plugs and problems were solved. There is no way I would install them in a customer's car, much less mine.

Pure snake oil just like Split-Fire plugs and all the rest of the promise you 50 mpg and 100 more hp stuff.

Put one in my lawn mower because that's the only brand the Parts Store had that would fit. It was hard to start and never ran right.

Since the stock ones last so long I haven't changed plugs in a Corvette since 1994 in close to 30 years.

I don;t know why but it seems that E3's cause tune issues.

There have been many threads stating issues after installation and resolution once they were replaced with standard plugs.

Don't know that I would call the Split-Fire brand/type snake oil. They are not the same as the E3's. Go do a little research on spark plug history and you will find there have been dual electrode plugs from the very beginning.

Wow! What kind of tune issues. So far after 300 miles no problems

You are correct the new Splitfire with the single electrode is probably a decent plug. I was refering to the originals that looked like the E3 with the split ground electrode. They were hyped to do all kinds of wonderful things that didn't happen.

I'm quite aware of multi-electrode plugs, with Bosch being a supplier. If they're so wonderful, why don't car manufactures use them as original equipment? Maybe the fact that the additional electrode size creates a hot spot that can lead to detonation.

I installed them in my C5Z, the car ran like crap after 100 miles. One of them had fouled out. I'm going back to stock plugs.

Because I had a bad experience with Bosch +4 plugs, I'll stay with stock plugs.

When we installed the +4, the engine ran rough and would not rev over 4000 rpm. Replaced them with OEM plugs, and it ran perfect.

Nothing to be gained by changing from the AC Delco plugs, in my opinion.
