Default DIY - Weekend Project - All the Fluids

Thanks to all the posts out there on CF, I am getting ready to get pretty dirty this weekend. I bought my 05' C6 used in Nov and am really going to get into the self maintenence aspect of things. I took it to one HPDE so after that I changed the pads and went with SS Brake lines. I also flushed the system and went with Motul RBF 600.

Now its time for the fluids.

This weekend or next I am going full Royal Purple.
Syncromax in the Tranny. Max Gear in the Diff. Coolant drain and fill with Royal Purple Purple Ice Additive. Oil Change with Royal Purple Oil and one of thier Filters, and also doing the "Ranger" flush method on my clutch fluid since i checked it yesterday it was Black

Ill try to take as many pictures as possible of the process if anyone is interested in the aftermath of the weekend please let me know. I doubht i could do a better write up than the ones out there, but its better to document it all incase someone else has questions.

Wish me luck, and again thanks CF.

Shouldn't take you more than a couple of hours depending on your abilities. Do yourself a HUGE favor and pick one of these up.

It makes the job so much easier when doing the trans/rear. I also have one of these I use for the ps and to drain out some of the coolant.

I just changed all my fluids last weekend. Oil, trans, dif, ps, clutch, and brakes. I sypohoned out a little coolant and replaced it with some Water Wetter too. Getting ready for my first HPDE next Thursday. Good luck, get dirty, and have fun.

Well it was a late night last night but i got nearly everything done.

Tranny Fluid is changed, Oil is changed and filter is on. Coolant is new with some Purple Ice in there as well, the only thing i didn't get to is the diff. I have an 05 and that drain plug is right underneath one of the leaf springs, i just wondered how hard is was going to be to get in there. I read it was a 10mm wrench and i got one with an angle in it but I was so close i wasn't sure anything was going to fit up in there.

Anyone have any advice on an 05' in how to get to that diff plug? Thanks in advance if you do.

Towards the end, right after the picture of the drain plug, it discusses what tools are needed.

Default Tool for Diff Plug

I picked up an extra 10mm Allen wrench and used a cutoff wheel to get a straight section 1.25 inch long. I used this short section of the Allen wrench with a open end or box end wrench for the diff drain plug.
