Im currently out of the country some place in the middle of the SE Aisa sand box ( down range).
The C6 was having issues with the battery draining so I replaced it with a new one. Well besides it draining and locking me out and not having a replacement key to open it. GM can not seem to cut the right key to fit the trunk. They tried twice and still does not open it.
Now for the the question what would be causing this problem? And yes the car gets put into reverse when parked.
And the major problem is Im deployed, the car went in for some paint work and the company managed to lock the car out after my wife told them to plug the trickle charger in. So im pretty much helpless at this point and company is not sure how to get in. All your help is appreciated.
Thanks for your time
Chad

If it's an '05 manual tranny, you need the dealer installed BCM reflash to eliminate DBS. Dreaded battery syndrome.
A few searches on the forum here and you should be able to find the particulars.

Although I have not tried this, I don't see why this would not work.
Jack up the front of the car and connect a battery charger to the starter solenoid terminal. The big cable should be the positive to the battery and just connect the negative to the ground.
That new battery you bought is already junk since it has been severely drained several times. SLI batteries are made to have a shallow discharge and taken them down as far as it appears to have been taken, just kills them.

The trunk/hatch can be VERY reluctant to open the first time... might take force and finesse. Thought I would break it when I manually unlocked my 09 hatch the first time. Works easily now.
