Default Installing my halltech venom this weekend.

Doing my second car mod this weekend.... that statement alone should let you know how experienced I am.

I've seen some instructions from SouthernCarParts, but I have to admit, they aren't very detailed.

1. I don't know what tools I'll need.

2. The instructions state that I need to "heat the bottom of the bridge and install it over the MAF sensor"

Okay... what is a bridge? Heat it with what? Why?

If anyone can direct me to more detailed installation guide/instructions or give me some pointers that'd be great.

I'd hate to bring it to the dealer and pay a hefty fee if I screw it up or don't feel comfortable enough doing it on my own.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also, am I going to have a problem with my car's check engine light because of my new CAI?

LS2KEV,
Where to start. Well first off you might want to get someone to be there to help you that is familiar with the "mod". Second, I did the same thing about a year ago and I used the instructions that were sent with it and yes some of it is kind of vague. My next suggestion is if you insist on doing it yourself, take pictures as you go along so you can always back track and see how it was originally.

The only real tools you need are common hand tools and a hairdryer. The bridge is the hard plastic piece that goes from the mass airflow sensor(MAF) over the radiator and attaches to the filter housing.

When you remove the old filter assy make sure you look how the MAF is oriented so you put it back the same way. Also, be careful with it and dont touch the "wires" inside. The hairdryer is to "warm" up the hard plastic bridge so you can slide the MAF in easier. Dont go crazy with the heat, mine took all of about 15-20 seconds of moving it around the end of the bride to get it to slide on. Once again ensure the MAF is oriented the right way in the bridge. Also, it should say on the instructions about the slot in the rubber coupler matching up with the "****" on the MAF. The rest is really easy just make sure you put the filter in the space in the front of the radiator BEFORE you connect it to the bridge.

Like I said I did this a year ago and I have not had any CEL in that time. You wont either so long as you dont overtighten the band clamps and you make sure everything is straight before you tighten it up.

I have to ask, did you get the beehive with it? If so it can be challenging to get it in place but just be patient.

I hope this helps and if you are having issues PM me and I will try to help you out. if need be I can take some pictures so you know what it will look like.
