Well 5k would be enough to heads cam your car. If you on a budget and want heads cam your best bet would be to have advanced induction do up your stock 243's. They are the company that did the r&d on the 243 head for gm and for what they charge to do the heads you can't go wrong.

... I picked up about 80 rwhp with a LG Pro Longtubes, 228/232 cam, FAST 102 and a tune. All for about 5K.

Myself, I would shop around for a used Centri S/C in great shape and bolt it on. That with a tune will give you enough uummp to play hard!

Pretty close but I think I had over $5,000. those incidentals, Like porting
The FAST & TB but that would be the logical way to go. I would not put a Cam in without the said boltons.

$5,200 buys you a brand spankin' new A&A centri kit! No need to buy someone else's used stuff! This would put you around 500-ish at the rear wheels. http://www.aacorvette.com/supercharg...products_id=82

Quote from A&A's website "Average increase TO THE REAR WHEELS is approximately 175 RWHP! No other modification, in this price range, even comes close."

No sir, no hood change required with the A&A supercharger! Everything you need comes in that kit! I've done four of these now!

Two of the A&A installs we've done and ran a thread on.....

Feel free to check out your options with the ECS Paxton kit, same price range when comparably equipped, and the highest torque of any centri on the market.

You wouldn't be part of the 7th SFG by chance would you? If so, you'll be our neighbor within a year!
