OK, so I install a new Pioneer Nav system in my 07 Z06 and everything is working great. So, I drive the car, get in a traffic jam, and I see steam coming out from the hood and my temp guage is around 240 degrees. I pull over and realize the cooling fan is not working. I figured out that the steam was really refrigerant which was released when the high pressure side got too high from no cooling fan...which was kinda nice since the engine didn't get too hot. Anyway, I get home, unplug the cooling fan from the module and hot wire the fan motor. It works fine. So I put the OBD2 code reader on it and it has no codes. Plug the cooling fan back in and it starts working. I leave it idling for 15 mins, turn the AC on and off, and everthing is working great. Next time I drive it, not working. And now, it won't come on at all. I can unplug the cooling fan module and get the 1482 code that is for the "cooling fan speed output circuit"....plug it back in and no code. Anyone else had any issues. I am thinking/hoping it must be the cooling fan module but is there any way my radio install could have anything to do with the cooling fan? Crazier connections have happened...and I hate stuff that happens right after you do somthing else. Hopefully they are not connected. Thanks, you all, for any input

make sure you check everything including the harness connector north of the module, especially if you have an aftermarket tune. very common melt. the 60amp fuse is okay the weak link is the harness...
You, my friend, have just saved me a lot of money and a bunch of work. I checked that connector and it's like you took a picture of my connector. The middle (black) wire was the culprit, just like your picture. What is the best way to fix it? I put some copper wire strands in the plug to make it have contact to test it, but is there a better way to fix it beyond buying a new plug? Perhaps taking the plug completely out of the picture for the black middle wire and splicing it directly to the other side of the plug?
Thanks again. This forum is awesome and you are a lifesaver!
