Double Diff Noise
I have heard about others with this problem- when stone cold, and a sharp turn is made from a standing start (very light on the pedal), there is an almost scraping type noise coming from the rear. Not a big deal, but I wonder if this is the beginning of a problem.

Yesterday, on a lovely country ride, I heard what is typically referred to as dragging sandbags coming from the diff at speeds over 30 mph. The top was off, and the wind blowing, but I am pretty sure that is what I heard. Not overly annoying, but I wonder if it will get worse.
Tomorrow I will give it a test run with the top on. Either way, I will put it on my lift, and check the diff fluid level. Then, as a precaution, I will change the fluid to the new recommended GM stuff (with additive already added). The TSB for the new fluid was issued in Jan.2008, so I assume my diff already has the corrrect stuff in it. I will also check the infamous axle nuts.
Now for the question - are any of these 2 sounds normal for the C6? The thought of going to a dealer, even though I am in full warranty, makes me ill. I know the GM fluid is expensive, but I would rather do what I can myself.
The car is bone stock, 7500 very easy miles, and is otherwise, perfect.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
M...
