Is the purpose of the insulated manifold cover sound abatement or temperature control? No wild guesses please.
Has anyone removed and run without it?

you know when I put my cam in I was looking at that thing why is it there I wouldn't see it being there for heat reasons I think it would just keep heat in. but you didn't want any wild guesses LOL

to muffle noise as far as i know.ford uses it on some engines,some under intake and some on top..... i plan on removing mine, i figure it traps a lot of heat in the intake, and it's got to be good for at least 1/10 of a horsepower.........
