Default Rotors

I have a 08-Z51 with 29000,I'm going to change over to ceramic pads.The car has never been on th tract,just normal driving.Question:Should i have the rotors turned.

Unless they are grooved/damaged, no. Don't forget to bed the pads.

If they are damaged or grooved don't waste your money or time on turning them, get new ones.

If you are changing pad compounds and the rotors have sufficient thickness and no grooving, you will not need to turn them necessarily. HOWEVER, you should definitely scrub the old pad transfer layer off with either Scotch-Brite (and elbow grease) or a Flex-Hone (much easier!). Some pads compounds are incompatible with others, and mixing two transfer layers can lead to trouble.

Do not use any sort of sandpaper as it is nearly impossible to keep the rotor surface flat by hand. Sandpaper will remove iron where the other two methods above will not.
