We have purchased a 2009 Corvette with a MGW shifter. I believe it should work easier. Does anyone know of a transmission shop in Wisconsin, that knows how to help.

There are lighter centering springs available, also the detent bolt in the trans. can be shimmed for less centering tension. There are details on this on this forum, search tech and performance. Good luck.

what do you mean work easier? if you think it will be easier to shift than the stock it won't happen it is harder to shift than stock but in some aspects easier like going from second to third just open palm on the back of the shifter and push straight up it will go straight into 3rd.
yea it can be a little harder than usual but all the short throws are harder as you have less leverage to do the gear change with. but yes it is crisp and percise
I find it hard to get into reverse with the MGW short shifter (I have to use two hands). Other than that I love the feel. very tight and crisp!
You need to lift some more weights. j/k Thats the object of the short throw. Shorter, crisper and more precise shifts. Nothing is wrong with it. You just have to get used to it. If will feel like its softer after using it a while.
