I did my 07 when I bought it in march of this year. Went to one of the sponsers and bought a cleaner/protection kit. I ended up masking off most of the car when I sprayed the waterproofer. You WILL want to do that, pick a calm day.
I have also masked off with saran wrap all the windows incl. the back one. I've bought the RaggTop cleaner and protector (two separate steps). Just make absolutely certain the top is completely dry to the core of the seams/welts BEFORE you apply the protectant, or you could start a black mold thing going.
RaggTopp 2-step cleaner and protectant. Great product.
You can drape plastic over the body/etc. and then put the top up to help 'mask off' the areas you don't want to spend half the day cleaning after the treatment.
Definitely worth the effort and in most cases it's good for a year +.
RaggTop or 303. Like the poster above, I prefer 303. I can get it locally at any of the marine supply stores. Make sure you get the FABRIC protector, not the standard 303 or Vinyl top protector. Regular 303 can replace many other products such as wheel dressing, hose dressing, interior dressing,........ pretty awesome stuff. It has UV protection, whereas many other "protectants" do not.
I have used RaggTopp - it works really well as both a cleaner and sealer.
Please be aware - the only thing you are doing is adding the chemical protectant (smells/feels/acts like a laquer/shellac product!!) to the fabric outer layer though. You are not actually waterproofing anything. The folding top has a rubber inner liner - this is what gives the top the ability to keep water out of the cabin. None of these products work for protecting the rubber liner since you can't get to it easily.
However, most all of these listed above will help the fabric outer skin look nicer/UV protection/etc.
I am a big fan of the Aerospace 303 formula for the rest of the interior (except leather). This includes all the rubber seals around the edges of the folding top and where it meets the windshield.
