Default Obx headers

Found a good deal on an obx header system with x pipe (cat delete) for only $646. Has anyone used this system? How much power does it make and is it a good system? Thanks for the input

I've got them on my car. They work ok. The drivers side header needs a little massaging to fit into the X pipe properly though.

You get what you pay for.... consider quality, not just looks.

Any idea on how much of a power increase you get?

Not sure with that set-up but I would guess around 20-30 to the wheels.

About as much as any other header give or take a few.

You generally are paying for ease of installation and quality.

I know several people who have installed OBX branded headers. It's hit or miss on how easily it'll all line up, but any muffler shop will modify the x-pipe to fit for ~100 bucks if you can't get it on there just right.

Probably doesn't matter to some people but for me I considered re-sale value as these would have less compared to the big 3 (American Racing, LG & Kook's) + I don't feel like anyone should have to factor in paying a shop to "tweak" the system for the completion of the install.

Re-sale value

Mods don't mean squat for re-sale.

Maybe not to a dealer but to an individual it does. If you found to identical vettes with the same mods but one with OBX headers and the other with ARH,LG, or Kooks but cost $1000 more which would you go with? Thought so...

I have them on my C5 and love them! I don't care about "resale value" or that they are "Chinese". I care about the power increase and the $1,000 that I saved by buying them over the other so-called better companies!

Jerry, be sure to get a tune after you install the headers.

I'm almost positive there are a couple vendors on here who sell OBX, so buying them wouldn't be not supporting a vendor.

Power is power...I don't care how you make it. As long as the headers aren't leaking then you're good to go.

I would NEVER pay someone $1000 more for their Corvette becuase it had expensive headers. If anything, headers diminish the value of your Corvette, so you're better off having spent less on them in the beginning

My car has been running the headers that were sold on ebay for over a year now without a single problem. Picked up 25 rwhp and spent 350 bucks for the headers and x-pipe new.

I'd go with the cheaper one and invest the $1000 I saved in other mods. I put the "ebay" headers on my old C5 and they worked great. My C6 came with StainlessWorx (I think) headers but if it hadn't you can bet I'd go the OBX route. Except tires and alignments I do all my own work so for the guy whos just going to take their car somewhere and have headers installed I can see it it being worth it for them to get a brand name. To each their own. Don't look down on the guys who like to save money and "tweak" a little.

Go for it. I got 30 to the wheels with these. They fit perfect for me and sound great, had them on over a year and are still tight. spending an extra $500 to $1000 on headers is absurd I made the same power for a third of the cost and they look and sound badass.

Awesome advice everyone; I think I'll go with the obx; and I will definitely get a tune.

What can you expect (HP) without a tune? With all the horor stories I keep reading I don't want to do a tune
